Sinful Colors Faceted & Nail Mail

This is my nail mail from my buddy Patricia.  We swapped nail polish and goodies through a FB group.  What fun it is to meet new people and bonus, score polish you can't buy here.  These are Spoiled polishes, which are unavailable where I live.

This is Faceted from the new Sinful Colors collection.. It is an amazing thing to look at.. in fact, you can hardly figure out what the heck is in the bottle, because it so FULL of fine round glitter and iridescent bar glitter that it catches the light and literally confuses you. I have never had a polish do that to me before. The picture helped me single out what's in it.  It is a clear base, with amazing amounts of fine purple glitter and gold, green, and iridescent bar glitter.  Look below for more close up macro type pictures.  It is sort of a magical thing to look at, as it is so difficult to describe in your hand.  This is my first bar glitter, and I DON't like bar glitter.  BUT I LOVE THIS.

In this pic below, I changed the settings on the color because its a PURPLE look to it, and the previous pix look blue.  I know computers are weird with blue and purple, but one would describe it in the mainly purple category.

Mani of the Week - SC Sugar Sugar & KC Red Hot

I am just learning how to 1) do a blog, 2) do manicures and 3) take pix of my manicures.  So bear with me.

This is Sinful Colors "Sugar Sugar" under Kleancolor "Red Hot".  It is the first time I have worn both polishes and I love them both.  This mani has lasted and lasted, almost 2 weeks, with some tipwear.  I have done a little touch up now and then, but it is getting time to change.. I had a mani emergency yesterday with this mani,  This happens when I do a touch up on one or a few nails and don't have the patience to wait for a good dry.  So I get the hated  SMURGE.  Which then results in the dreaded "PEEL IT OFF ALREADY".

As a base coat I use a Sally Hansen nail strengthener (got it at the Dollar Store), then a coat of Elmer's Glue (to help with removal of polish afterwards - it works great!).  Then the first layer is  SC Sugar Sugar. It is a red shimmer that goes on easy with no pulls and one coat does it.  You could add a second, but not really needed.  The red is deep red and beautiful.  Dry time is fairly quick.

KC Red Hot is one of my lemmings that I have wanted for ages.  I found it at a flea market, for $1.00.  Yeah, well I bought a few that day. It is a thick red jelly with small red glitter and large round glitter.  I love it because it has depth and the red makes me feel good.   It is a bit tricky to apply, you have to dip and place.  It is made to be a top coat, as alone, it is too clear.  Dry time is a little longer than usual, but hit it with a quick dry top coat, (I use Out the Door) and you should be fine.   I should have moisturized cuticles before taking pix, sorry gang.

First Dusty Hunt

This is the results of my first "dusty hunt".  A dusty hunt means, searching for old nail polishes, well, anywhere.  I got one (at far left) china glaze, and the rest are OPI, mostly from Germany Collection.  I have worn the deep orange one, second from the left and it literally glows on your nail.  It is beautimous.  Dusty hunting takes a lot of courage for me because I'm pretty shy.  But after hitting some 4 shops in the last few months, I finally found one that was willing to sell old polishes.  The most rare one is the 3rd from the left.  I will repost all the polish names soon.  The far right one is Warm & Fozzy.  More later.

Shimmering aspen leaves

Mom and I stayed for a week up in the mountains.  What a lovely time.  We had lots of fun and made lots of good food, and visited.  I wish we could stay up there forever.

First blog post..  meanderings of polish, northern lights, archaeology and crop circles.  More to come
